Early Slavic Studies Association is seeking nominations for the 2025 Book Prize for the best book in the field of Early Slavic Studies (pre-1800), published between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2025.
All nominated works must be in English. Co-authored books and edited volumes will be accepted, as long as they are peer-reviewed. The committee will accept both nominations and self-nominations. The prize committee is also willing to consider a special award for the best translation of primary source material in the field, at the committee’s discretion.
Authors must be members of ESSA in good standing. All nominations should be sent in digital format to the chair of the prize committee, Alice Isabella Sullivan (alice.sullivan[at]tufts.edu) by September 1, 2025 with the subject line “Nomination: 2025 ESSA Book Prize.”
